Me complace anunciar que he sido aceptado con dos obras por la Especialista en Artes Culturales en la Ciudad de Doral, Sra. Diana Maldonado, para ser parte de la “Exposición de Arte de Herencia Hispana” que estará abierta del 14 al 28 de septiembre en el Centro Gubernamental de la Ciudad de Doral lobby, 8401 NW 53rd Terrace, Doral, FL 33166. La apertura comenzará a las 6:30 p. m.

La oficina cultural de la Ciudad de Doral celebra cada año el Patrimonio Hispano con diferentes eventos culturales y sociales para la familia y todos los miembros de esta gran comunidad que incluyen música, baile, comida, conferencias de historia y más. Espero que todos ustedes puedan estar con nosotros en un evento tan importante.

I’m happy to anounce tha I have been accepted for the Cultural Arts Specialist on the City of Doral Ms. Diana Maldonado, to be part of the “Hispanic Heritage art exhibition” which will be open from sep 14 until sep 28 at City of Doral Government Center lobby, 8401 NW 53rd Terrace, Doral, FL 33166. The opening will commence at 6:30pm. The City of Doral cultural office every year celebrate the Hispanic Heritage whit different cultural and social event for family and all of members of this great comunity wich incluide music, dance, food, history lectures and more. I hope all of you can to be with us in so important event.

Mi opinión

¿Arte contemporáneo?

Comparto en muchos aspectos los argumentos que expone Avelina Lésper cuando evalúa al arte contemporáneo. Desde hace muchos años (Recuerdo en los 80`s cuando tuve la oportunidad de visitar al Pompidou) se viene exponiendo basura en galerías y museos pretendiendo mostrar supuesta libertad creadora de los artistas.

También he escuchado a ciertos curadores y gente entendida en la materia decir que no se puede mirar al arte actual  con ojos del siglo XVlll y XlX. Entendido. Pero una cosa es la libertad creadora, la exploración, la investigación, nuevas propuestas y medios y otra cosa pretender que cualquier mamotreto, “performance” y tal es arte. Anécdotas, ejemplos hay muchos y en  mi humilde opinión, se conjuga una suerte de intelectualismo barato con la voracidad de los agentes del mercado. ¿Se podría cambiar el nombre a semejantes muestras por “Expresiones visuales” o cualquier otra que se les ocurra a los sabios para no llamarlos arte y todo el mundo tranquilo?

Causa gracia cuando uno de estos “Intelectuales”  con aire de superioridad te mira de reojo y suelta con desprecio: “Eso no es para todo el mundo”  cuando expresamos nuestro parecer contrario a esas “obradas” que colman las galerías de casi todo el mundo.

Intelectualismo barato y agentes del mercado. Éstos últimos son unos genios toda vez que han logrado que multimillonarios compren a precios inimaginables trastos, cacharros, desechos que finalmente pasarán a la historia como una de las estafas más grandes que se cometieron en nombre de la “creatividad” humana.

Contemporary art?

I agree in many respects the arguments presented by Avelina Lésper when she evaluating contemporary art. For many years (I remember in the 80 `s when I had the opportunity to visit the Pompidou museum in Paris) has been exhibiting in galleries and museums trash trying to show supposed creative freedom of artists.

I have also heard some “curators” and understood in the matter say that you can not look at contemporary art through the eyes of eighteenth and nineteenth century. It is understood. But one thing is creative freedom, exploration, research, new proposals and media and otherwise pretend that any monstrosity, “performance” and this is art. Anecdotes, examples are many and in my humble opinion, is a kind of cheap combines intellectualism with the voracity of market players. Could you rename similar samples by “visual expressions” or any other that they happen to the wise not call them art?

It is funny when one of these “Intellectuals” archly you squints and loose with contempt: “That’s not for everyone” when we expressed our view contrary to those “wrought” that fill the galleries around the world.

Cheap intellectualism and market players. The latter are geniuses since they have made billionaires people buy at unimaginable high prices dishes, pots and pans, waste finally go down in history as one of the biggest scams committed in the name of human “creativity”.
